This course was informative, challenging, and applicable to my current job. As the course progressed, it was apparent that the instruction was delivered is a thoughtful manner where previous learning modules set the table for more advanced instruction. I found the supplemental readings to be both current and relatable. I learned quite a bit from those readings and found that this supplemented and complimented the course material very well. The reading added a fresh perspective and a different point of view to the course. The self-paced nature of the course allowed me to complete the lessons around a, sometimes chaotic, work schedule. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is interested in advancing to a higher level of leadership in the current work environment – and to leaders who want to improve the performance of their people and their teams.
This is a great, thorough course that will build from the ground up. Make no mistake, the modern workplace is changing. Remote work, the new generation, technology, employee expectations. The world is changing as we speak.
We all need the tools and strategies to be able to manage, lead, and take our teams to the next level. The Ascend Program gives you those tools. From developing strategy, building an effective culture, holding effective meetings, coaching, giving feedback, this course covers it.
The coaching meetings with Dr. Arrington are an added layer of instruction and introspection. Be prepared to have tough and pointed conversations about you and what is being covered during the course. There is no topic he can’t advise you on.
Finally, the monthly cohort meetings are a venue to listen to the other members of the team going through the same program as you. They provide an opportunity to learn and pick up new ideas and understand that you are not alone.
Abraham Lincoln once said, “Whatever you are, be a good one.” This course helps you be the great leader we all aspire to be.
I am glad I took this course, you will be too.
I am amazed at how applying the concepts and techniques from this course has made my job as a leader easier and improved the efficiency of my team as a whole. Learning “HOW” to implement positive accountability, handle conflict, approach change, and indentify what motivates people are game changers. Individual mentoring sessions with Dr. Arrington in conjunction with the course material increased my confidence and made me realize that doing all the things that make a leader great are not as scary as they seemed in my head. Now that I have a high performing team, my time is freed up to conduct more research on emerging technologies, becoming more of a solution architect, and setting a path forward for my team to acheive great things while I ensure we are contributing significantly to the “big picture” goals and strategy of my organization.
The course started from the basics, then ended up showing you how to apply the courses leadership concepts and tools to your own work environment. The class is a great way to train new potential leaders. It is also a way to hone the skills of existing leaders who have not taken an honest look at how they provide leadership. Like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it. If you attempt to apply the course material to how you supervise, lead, council employees, etc. I believe you will appreciate the course. I did.
