About the Instructors
I though this course was an excellent framework for developing strategy, vision and empowering my team. I especially enjoyed the review of the vision provided by Martin Luther King, Jr. and John F. Kennedy in their speeches. Finally, I believe the exercise on Core Values was great, I had trouble determining three people I didn’t like, and why. Great course.
This course was an excellent reminder that team members do not always understand or remember the big picture if you don’t consistently relate their work and contributions to the unit’s vision and strategy. Great course with some very specific recommendations on how to keep strategy at the forefront and ensure effectiveness in executing your strategy.
I appreciated the opportunity to fill out the Strategic Direction Work Sheet. It made me think deeper about my organizations performance measures and the standards used to measure them. Thanks.
Enjoyed this course. My experience is military, and we look at strategy a little bit differently, so this was a new perspective for me. The last three lessons were particularly important – as they focus on transitioning vision to action and results.
Teams can work hard and accomplish tasks but if they are not aligned to the vision then you are not going to be successful. Its not always about being busy it is about accomplishing the correct work.
Key Takeaway: Strategy is choosing what NOT to do… sounds simple but this course delves deeper and provides tools and context for that statement.
