Course Description

What does it take to galvanize a team? How can you get your team members on the same page? When it comes to leading effective teams, the rules have changed. Gen Z, Millennials, Gen Xers need more than top-down directives, they want to know why.

Many of today’s teams are geographically dispersed, culturally diverse, and/or represent multiple generations. This course is designed to help leaders foster communication, collaboration, and cohesion as they relate to developing high-performing, self-managing, and effective teams.

Through a series of lessons, videos, and quizzes, you’ll learn what seperates good team leaders from great team leaders how to engage your team, ensure work gets done without micromanaging, and how to build relationships among team members to ensure they not only get their work done quickly, but efficiently and in a way that produces consistent quality work.

You’ll learn how to create an environment where high-performing teams can thrive. This includes defining goals for your team, project-team members, and yourself; identifying key performance indicators; and monitoring progress.

About the Instructors

David a husband, father and the principal of Arrington Coaching. He and his team work with leaders, teams, organizations, and entrepreneurs. He regularly speaks and writes on leadership development, team alignment, and peak performance. David has over 15 years of executive coaching experience and a doctorate in strategic leadership. He's just authored his first book: Promotable.

Authentic, applicable to so many miserable situations I’ve observed over the decades, and well narrated by an energetic and motivating instructor. The bitesize modules made the course pleasant, repeatable and manageable while running flawlessly on my relatively old, obsolete Android handheld device.

Thank you for including topics such as Building Trust. Trust is an important element of any successful Team and is a reason why some employees begin to look for employment elsewhere when they don’t trust Leadership. And thank you for including Varied Backgrounds and Worldviews and Engaging Diversity as a topics because they are very important elements of a Team that should be considered when hiring employees. Thank you for addressing Workplace Diversity, especially as related to our unconscious biases and how they affect our cohesiveness within the Team. I learned a lot during the lesson on Creating Accountability and the role Leadership plays in accepting responsibility for mistakes made by the Team. Thank you and good luck with your book “Promotable”!

From day one this course added value to my work performance. Not only was the course informational and practical, the energy made for an exciting learning atmosphere. I was able to listen to some lessons in my car while driving and return to my computer to review the presentations and material. Great Course!

I thought this course was very valuable. I appreciated the practical examples and suggestions for leadership actions that were provided. The honest explanations and personal experience set the tone for a thoughtful and in-depth instruction on diversity. Also, the reading selections mentioned were great! Finally, the multi-platform approach for instruction was extremely helpful. Not having to be chained to my work computer allowed the experience to be less of a grind and helped to remove work distractions from pressing in.

This course wraps up significant essential team leadership concepts, practices, and procedures which can be instantly applied to any team situation. They are simply stated, easy to understand, and instantly usable. The presentation is positive and upbeat. It was a pleasure to work through this course and lessons learned were incredibly valuable!

Excellent course that is extremely relatable and easy to put into action using the new tools, immediately. I intend to leverage and implement a handful of the techniques right away. Having taken other courses with Dr. David Arrington, I expected nothing less!

Dr. Arrington makes difficult material seem easy. He made several days of online material seem like nothing. I looked forward to hearing his words of wisdom in a fun and non-threatening environment. He always made himself available to answer questions and bounce ideas. Also, he practices what he preaches. Even though there were some technical difficulties, he was able to quickly resolve it and was fair about providing adequate time to complete the course to make up for the delay caused by the technical difficulties. I was sad to see this course end as he really felt like a mentor in my brain. A very worth while course to take. Valuable lessons about conflict, trust, and other important qualities every leader should have.

I enjoyed the content about getting to know your people in order to build a high performance team. The concepts in this course are not hard to understand, but the challenge comes with implementing them. Good course for leaders to take and learn tools that they can apply to their future endeavors.
